Tammy Shelton
CERTIFIED KERATIN COMPLEX TECHNICIAN
A feisty, firery, creative and enthusiastic Leo, Tammy has been making people look and feel their best for over 7 years. After apprenticing at a salon in Dahlonega, Ga, she entered Lanier Technical College eager to learn and graduated as their GOAL Student of the Year (Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership). She then went on to place in the top five in the competition for the State of Georgia. After becoming a licensed Master Cosmetologist, Tammy continued her education by attending classes in advanced cutting, coloring techniques and formulations, styling and formal hair by Redken, Matrix, Graham Webb and Martin Parsons who is one of the foremost educators of his craft and in 2008 is the recipient of the NAHA Lifetime Achievement Award. While attending a Beth Minardi class on color, Tammy began to cultivate her passion for hair color. She then went to the Redken Exchange, the industry’s leading resource for learning located in the heart of New York City, the fashion capital of the world, and became one of their Certified Hair Colorists. Becoming a Redken Certified Haircolorist requires passing a comprehensive written and practical exam given by Redken’s top professionals as well as a scenario test, all based on the following criteria: Haircolor Principles, Redken Haircolor Brands, Creative Color or formulation, Foil Placement and Color Correction.
Tammy is also certified in the Japanese Thermal Straightening system called Bio Ionics. Tammy is continuously enhancing her education by attending classes on the latest styles and trends. Her future plans are to become a certified colorist of the American Board of Colorists. Tammy joined our team in September, 2008.
Krista Richards
CERTIFIED KERATIN COMPLEX TECHNICIAN
A powerful and exciting Scorpio, Krista is originally from Connecticut where she got her first taste for cosmetology in high school. She moved to Georgia and attended North Fulton Beauty College graduating in 1978. Krista’s passion for fashion and beauty took her to New York where she attended the Fashion Institute of Technology, became an Intimate Apparel Fashion designer and for the next 22 years, intertwined her fashion sense with her love of hair and color. While busy designing fashions and cutting, coloring and styling hair, Krista strengthened her cosmetology education with yearly hands-on courses conducted by some of the most powerful and foremost educators in the industry. Her eagerness to learn and desire to take her career to the next level led her to a Toni & Guy two day event at the Westin in Atlanta where she learned how to personalize her work to her client’s lifestyle and appearance, develop classic shapes into detailed, updated looks and experienced motivation and inspiration in the newest trends, techniques, and tools.
Krista attended a Redken two day event in 2008, taking a hands-on pivot point class and extended training in color formulations and techniques. She also took a hands-on cutting seminar given by Martin Parsons where she improved her accuracy using his current and creative techniques. She also took Martin Parson’s hands-on Up-do seminar. Martin has been regarded as one of the foremost educators of his craft and in 2008 is the recipient of the NAHA Lifetime Achievement Award. He is known for creating some of the most beautiful updos in the industry. Krista has been with Image Salon since 2004.
Terri McWilliams
A feisty, firery, creative and enthusiastic Leo, Terri is one of the newest additions to Image Salon. Terri graduated from North Fulton Beauty College in 1995 and took her passion for hair and color to the top fast. She attends every seminar and class that becomes available, to keep on top of the fashions, styles, colors and techniques, ensuring her clients receive the best the industry has to offer. She owned and operated her own salon for three years. Terri attended the 2007 Redken Symposium in Las Vegas for advanced learning and uninhibited creativity. Education was her main focus, with classes that covered the latest trends in color and design with Dhaniel Doud and Deb Rosenberg. She learned how to formulate creatively to correct common haircolor headaches and also learned new cutting techniques from Ellen Lawlor and Brian Washburn. With her strong will to learn and passion for the industry she has excelled quickly. Terri's love for the industry and passion to make people feel good and have a sense of self are what drives her to stay consistent and educated throughout her career. The most important thing she wants to give her clients is the ability to do their hair at home every morning so they are as happy as they were when they left her chair. Terri has been with Image Salon since February, 2009.
Chelli Garrett
CERTIFIED KERATIN COMPLEX TECHNICIAN
A witty and versatile Gemini, Chelli is originally from Florida and has been a Master Cosmetologist for 25 years. She received her degree through Wilfreds Beauty Academy in St. Petersburg, Florida. Chelli attends extensive education classes and seminars to educate herself on the newest techniques and products and to view the upcoming season’s new trends. Her energy and passion for learning motivated her to become a Certified Redken Color Specialist. Between 1995 and 1997, Chelli did platform work, with hands-on behind the stage and on the stage for the Redken Visions hair show in Atlanta. She knew where she wanted to be when she was a teen assisting in her mother’s salon. In addition to her continuing education classes, some of Chelli’s accomplishments include hair and make-up for several Atlanta fashion shows between 1995 and 1998 and theatrical and production hair and make-up for photo shoots in Marietta. Her work has also been featured on WCW, when she cut and styled hair for Rick Flair and Kevin Sullivan, and make-up and hair for Cameo’s video entitled Word Up. She believes her enthusiasm for life and her trendsetting techniques will always keep her clients inspired and current.
Chelli left Image Salon and Spa in 2005 when she moved back to Florida. She returned to Georgia in 2008 and we are so excited to have her back with us!
Pat Campana
Pat is a Master Cosmetologist from New York and has 45 years of training, knowledge and experience in all areas of cutting and color. She earned her degree through BOCES in Peekskill, New York and gained more experience moving to hip and trendy salons from Tarrytown, New York, to Chappaqua, New York, where she expanded her creative horizon. Trained in both Redken and Framesi color lines, Pat feels it is crucial to continue expanding her knowledge of color through advanced classes. She dedicated herself to refining her skills by attending cutting classes. She uses her foundation for precision cutting with each haircut she creates. Her passion stems from a need to fulfill every client’s wish. She loves to create new and exciting looks with fun color and cutting techniques. As a stylist she is dedicated to learning and growing in the industry by keeping up with education and product knowledge. Pat attended Framesi’s Hair Pigment Art Series where she honed her skills in the areas of color consultations, color formulation, getting guaranteed gray coverage, solving all color problems and color corrections, highlighting techniques with framcolor Special Effects and creating a full spectrum of reds. Her continuing education also includes several other Framesi hands-on cutting and color classes conducted by Framesi’s exclusive Italian Style Team.
Pat also loves Redken and attends Redken’s many color and cutting classes. She believes that with each client there is a new experience and enjoys giving them a style that compliments them and is achievable at home. Pat has been with Image Salon since February, 2000.
Anita Sutryn
CERTIFIED KERATIN COMPLEX TECHNICIAN
A charming and sociable Libra, Anita has been a Master Cosmetologist and Colorist for 36 years. She is from Louisiana and earned her degree through Genevas Beauty College. Her charismatic personality and drive to succeed encourages the philosophy behind what Image Salon and Spa is all about. Anita is a Redken Color Specialist and is passionate about creating soft dimensional color. She has styled for on-site weddings at the Fox Theater, Atlanta, and Barnsley Gardens, Atlanta. Marked by a continuous endeavor to reach the highest levels of excellence, Anita has furthered her education by attending classes with some of Redken’s most talented platform artists receiving extensive education in Redken color, foiling techniques, and advanced cutting. Their inspiring techniques and raw education are what Anita bases her strong foundation on. Anita received top industry training in both cutting and coloring. She is cross-trained in several color lines such as Redken, Loreal Professional, and Iso. Her extensive knowledge of Redken products allows her to educate her clients.
Anita brings both her knowledge and passion to the salon. Whether her work is classic,
trendsetting or anything in-between, she is committed to giving her clients the best experience possible when they are in her chair. When creating a color and cut that is right for her clients, her main focus is to give them a style that is beautiful and attainable based on natural hair color and texture.
In addition to being a stylist, her background in Salon Management has given her the opportunity to work with the owner to plan events, education, employment areas and ensure the success of Image Salon and Spa. Anita has been with Image Salon since 1992.
Leigh Britain
A firery, fiesty, creative and enthusiastic Leo, Leigh is the owner of Image Salon and Spa. She studied commercial art and design through Andrew College. After graduation, she went into law and enjoyed 20 years of para-legal work. While enjoying law, she began studying marketing trends and techniques and began to miss the artistic side she loved all her life. In 1991, she went back to her roots and opened Image Salon. During the 18 years in business, she has brought the salon from a 3 stylist “shop” to a 10 station salon. In 1992, she decided to apprentice and become a creative stylist. After a year, she decided this was not what she wanted; she loves the marketing and overall running of the salon and that is where she wanted to be and is. In 2000, the Day Spa was added and Image Salon and Spa was born. Leigh has expanded the Salon three times, and has even bigger plans ahead. She runs the desk, inventory and coordinates the entire salon and spa. She is always brimming with fresh ideas and her attention to detail ensures everything runs smoothly. She is very passionate about her business but keeps it lighthearted.
She lives by her philosophy – “Live, Laugh and Love”.
Alyssa King Ellis
An enthusiastic and adventurous Aries, Alyssa brings her contagious energy to Image Salon and Spa. She graduated from North Fulton Beauty College and received her Master Cosmetologist license in 1999. She has been certified for 3 years, with Dome Hair Extensions and So. Cap USA Hair Extensions, a leader in the industry, using only the best hand selected real European human hair that is pre-bonded with 100% Keratin tips to ensuring a healthy, strong and long lasting bond. Some of her education achievements include attending the Savannah, and Macon Extensive Education classes with educators Dhaniel Doud, Tina Terry Hunt, and Kris Sorbie. Her educational background also includes razor texturizing and pivot point classes, extending her knowledge of textured lengths, femme layers, bob shapes and cropped cuts. Alyssa also attended the Tigi Color Classes with educators Derrick Sharp and Tammy Dement-Lowrey where she learned about wheat and gluten free hair color filled with the unique and advanced Penetration Delayed Oxidation Technology. Alyssa is also considered one of Image’s go-to girls for all your bridal party needs. Her artistic background lends to her ability to intuitively recognize fashion and style, offering fresh alternatives for her clients while serving each client individually in a manner that best suits their needs. Color is where her true passion lies and she isn't afraid of taking you from blonde to brunette or red to blonde! Alyssa’s heart-felt, outgoing personality will make you feel right at home. She looks forward to your next visit!

Brandi Britain
A reliable, warmhearted and loving Taurus, Brandi is our Reservationist and Salon Coordinator. She is also our make-up Designer and Artist. Brandi studied Fashion at the Art Institute of Atlanta and is currently attending Georgia State University where she is majoring in Journalism. She has extensive knowledge in the industry and her love for this has taken her to Europe and Paris twice. Her style is unique and she was chosen by Don Shaw as the newest print model for all the DASS salons. Some of Brandi’s accomplishments include styling the entire Betsey Johnson line at Fashionada 2008 in Atlanta, and styling the Sex and the City premier party with Designer Decomposure.
In addition to being an asset to the team she is also a crucial part of bringing the latest styles to Image Salon’s closet. Brandi’s exceptional high salon maintenance keeps us on track in our busy times. She has been with Image Salon since 2007.
Alma Heard
CERTIFIED KERATIN COMPLEX TECHNICIAN
A creative, intelligent and artistic Virgo, Alma attended the Academy of Beauty Culture and Dixie’s Academy in Gainesville, earning her degree in Master Cosmetology. Alma owned and operated a salon for 24 years. She is a certified Event Styling Specialist through Scarlet O’Hair in Marietta, and performs in-salon and on-site weddings. Alma’s philosophy that education is essential in an ever changing industry leads her to extensive and advanced education classes every year She is a certified Advanced Coloration Colorist and has participated in several hands on classes at the Farouk Systems CHI Academy. Alma has accomplished advanced cutting techniques to mix and match texture with self-developing perimeters, down drafting and edging allowing her the ability to transform classic cuts into Street Chic. She is also accomplished in accelerated and uncomplicated cuts using voluminous sections or trendsetting, cheeky styles incorporating bold, strong precise geometric lines. When it comes to hair color, Alma has an amazing sense of balance and vision to create the right color to complement your skin tone and enhance your hair cut. With her extensive knowledge of color combined with 30 plus years of experience, Alma can create raw, edgy beauty with a funky approach to hair and fashion, taking inspiration from the culture of the early 60’s and fusing that era’s unique form of self-expression and unconventional way of thinking with today’s style and attitude – unleashing a new and fresh appeal. Her passion is creating color and making it multi-dimensional to show the movement of the hair cut. As a member of our team Alma is dedicated to exploring new fashion and design, as well as mastering traditional looks and styles. She came to our Salon in June, 2009.
Lee Barclay
CERTIFIED KERATIN COMPLEX TECHNICIAN
A lively and funny Aquarius, Lee is able to appreciate the beauty in all people. She graduated from Lanier Technical College and has been a Master Cosmetologist for 7 years. She matches your individual style with her professional vision to reveal your ideal look. When it comes to listening to what a client wants or doesn’t want, Lee possesses an articulate ear. By attending shows, like The Birmingham Premier, she keeps up with the trends in fashion and further education in color correction and texturizing . She has received advanced training in the Toni and Guy Techniques giving her the cutting edge in her field. Lee has participated in several hair design and color classes with nationally recognized Artists such as David Stanko, Gaven Smith and Brian Washburn. Lee’s main passion is color and she is inspired by the creative change. As a member of our team Lee is dedicated to exploring new fashion and design, She has mastered the traditional looks and continues to step outside the box. Her favorite part of meeting a new client is taking what they express in the consultation and creating the perfect look while making them feel comfortable and confident during the transformation.
Lee donates her time to organizations such as Casa of Forsyth County and other organizations for abused women and children.
Lee joined our team in September, 2009.
Riley Shaughnessey
A caring and talented Pisces, Riley graduated among the top in her class from the Roffler-Moler Hairstyling College in 2004. She enjoys creating diversity in her work, and is able to learn new techniques rather quickly. Riley gathers inspiration from all aspects of life, and translates them into creative colors, cuts, and styles. She has a genuine desire to make people feel great and can effectively take clients’ ideas and mold them into trendy, stylish looks while still maintaining their original vision. Riley has completed numerous coloring, cutting, and technique classes including a Trend Shifting Class where she learned the latest design and color trends from around the world, a Design Session with world-renowned Redken stylist Sam Villa who taught her how to use face and body structure to create versatility; a class with Omar Spina where she learned how to apply shapes found in architecture, art, sculpture and nature to design hair. Riley also attended the Redken Color 911 class under Deb Rosenberg and Dhaniel Doud where she honed her color correction skills. She learned how to approach previously colored hair and uneven color applications and how to create customized formulas for perfect results on every client.
Riley is also very skilled with Tigi and believes that cut and color work in synergy. She specializes in all areas of color and corrective color. She values the importance of having fun with her work while maintaining her professionalism, and creates a relaxing, comfortable environment for her clients. Thanks to continued education, technique training, and a passion for all things beauty, Riley is an accomplished stylist at Image Salon and Spa.
